Marc Fosh of Michelin star fame has moved into the centre of Palma and created a group of (three) restaurants that have become very popular. In the above video he demonstrates his favourite Greek salad recipe.

All three offer very different types of cuisines.

Simply Fosh which is based in the Covent de la Missio hotel in the backstreets of Palma has proved to be very popular where booking is essential. Here international cuisine is offered to the highest standard in a lovely patio setting.

Tasca de Blanquerna is not too far away and offers something quite different with Spanish cuisine forming the basis of the menu.

Misa Braserie restaurant, which is the latest Mar Fosh offering, is located near Simply Fosh but this time can be found in the Hotel Missio de San Miguel just off Calle San Miguel near Cappuccinos.

We have eaten at all three and can highly recommend them all.

Lunch at Fresh Food Factory.

What a treat. A salad made to order. Right in the center of the old city of Palma. Found right next to the Olivar Market this new establishment is part of the successful team of Juanjo and Ronny of Duke restaurant fame in Santa Catalina also in Palma.

An informal yet modern atmosphere. The crockery and cutlery used to serve up your meal are all biodegradable. Very full at lunchtime so make sure you get there early!

Where would you prefer to be on a day like this?

Certainly not under a cloud somewhere. Mallorca has more than 300 days of sunshine a year and to prove it all you have to do is have a look at this video.

“Winter in Mallorca” is a title of a book written by George Sands on her visit to Mallorca with Frederic Chopin. Her account of her time here was far from complimentary but one thing she could not argue with was the weather. If they came here to recuperate from the cold of Europe this was the place.
